Skyline, Eastside Catholic get wins | Prep football roundup

A pair of Issaquah-Sammamish prep football teams picked up wins in Week 2.

Skyline 57 Cottonwood (Utah) 25

Skyline kept its record perfect and put on a national display in the process, taking down Cottonwood (Murray, Utah) 57-25 behind four Max Browne touchdowns.

It will be another out-of-state showdown for the defending 4A state champs next week, when coach Mat Taylor’s squad travels to the Kibbie Dome and the University of Idaho for a game against Coeur d’Alene.

Eastside Catholic 30 Eastlake 12

The Crusaders rallied behind freshman quarterback Harley Kirsch to get the win over their 4A neighbors from Eastlake in the first ever meeting between the two schools.

Centennial (British Columbia) is next up for Eastside Catholic before Metro League play opens against Bainbridge Island a week later.

Eastlake will take on its second straight Metro foe when it hosts Seattle Prep next week.

Issaquah 0 Mount Si 21

Mount Si used a defense many around the league are calling one of the best in program history to stifle coach Chris Bennett’s Eagles 21-0.

Issaquah will face O’Dea at West Seattle Stadium in its final non-league game of the year.
