Skyline football, soccer teams honored by City of Sammamish

Two state champions were recognized at the latest Sammamish City Council meeting on Jan. 4, with the Skyline football and girls soccer teams receiving Sammamish Achievement in Excellence awards.

Two state champions were recognized at the latest Sammamish City Council meeting on Jan. 4, with the Skyline football and girls soccer teams receiving Sammamish Achievement in Excellence awards.

“Their success is an example of the passion, commitment to excellence and enthusiasm of this new city of Sammamish,” said Mayor Tom Odell, who separately awarded each team its plaque.

The Skyline football team finished its season with a perfect 14-0 record, winning its seventh overall state championship.
