Speedster cuts down tree | Sammamish police blotter Dec. 21-25

Reports were taken from King County Sheriff's Office incident logs

The blotter consists of Sammamish police officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Dec. 21

‘OBVIOUSLY DRUNK’: Sammamish police contacted a man sleeping in the back seat of his car, “obviously drunk,” off of Southeast Duthie HIll Road. The man wanted to sleep it off, but after the officer left, the officer observed the vehicle pull onto the roadway. The officer stopped the car and arrested the man for driving while under the influence around 2:30 a.m.

SPEEDSTER KILLS TREE: After losing control of the vehicle traveling northbound on 205th Place Northeast around 6:30 p.m., the driver stuck and cut down a tree with the vehicle. There were no injuries reported.

Dec. 22

$100: Someone in a white passenger vehicle reportedly stole a $100 check from a mailbox in the 1800 block of West Beaver Lake Drive Southeast.

DUI: Sammamish police arrested someone for failing to transfer the vehicle’s title and for driving under the influence in the 5300 block of 188 Place Northeast around 11:45 p.m. The driver recorded a 0.96 and 0.89 blood alcohol content.

Dec. 24

MAIL IN A DITCH: Someone called Sammamish police to report stolen mail found in a ditch in the 1700 block of West Beaver Lake Drive Southeast.

Dec. 25

EVEN IN A SCHOOL PARKING LOT: Someone broke the rear passenger window of a vehicle parked in the Skyline High School parking lot off of 288th Avenue Southeast and stole a purse from inside the car.

AND AGAIN: Someone broke into the front passenger window to steal a purse from the backseat of a vehicle parked in the 1700 block East Lake Sammamish Parkway.
