String of opened mailboxes | Sammamish Police Blotter

The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Sammamish. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Dec. 9

A grinchy attempt: A resident of East Lake Sammamish Parkway went to get the mail at 9:45 a.m. and noticed a screwdriver with duct tape on the end lying on the ground, along with flyers.

Dec. 10

Ditched the car: A person drove his car into a ditch off of 244th Avenue Southeast at 12:30 a.m. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was given a DUI.

Attempted mail theft: At 5:09 p.m., two mailboxes on Southeast Klahanie Boulevard were found to have been pried open.

Dec. 11

Raising the white flag: A person voluntarily surrendered a firearm at 10:16 a.m. to the Sammamish Police Department, located at 801 228th Ave. SE.

Dec. 14

Bright copper wire and warm woolen mittens: At 9:10 a.m., it was noticed that copper wire had been stolen from a new construction building on Northeast 14th Place.

To grandmother’s house we go: A couple got into an argument at 9:35 a.m. at the boyfriend’s grandmother’s home on Southeast 24th Street.

Don’t you honk your horn at me: At 5:34 p.m., a resident of 269th Avenue Southeast reported that a person has been honking a loud air horn at him whenever the two meet.

Possible mail theft: There was a possible mail theft at 6:14 p.m. on 212th Way Southeast. A mailbox had been opened and junk mail had been scattered on the ground.

Dec. 15

Custodial problems: At 6:08 p.m., there was an incident on Northeast 20th Way. A teenage son did not want to stay with his father, as per his parents’ shared custody parenting plan.

Dec. 16

More mail theft: An unknown suspect pried open a locking mailbox on Southeast 21st Street and took mail. The theft was noticed at 9:15 a.m.
