Drivers are warned to expect delays for the next three weeks as the Issaquah School District creates a left-turn lane and a combined right-turn/through lane on westbound East Sunset Way at Second Avenue SE.

The project, which is part of the Issaquah High School remodel, is designed to alleviate some of the backups that occur at that intersection during peak travel times. The school district will also add a new sidewalk on the north side of East Sunset Way and a right-turn lane on Second Avenue SE at East Sunset Way.

During construction there will be no parking along the north side of East Sunset Way from Second Avenue SE to Third Avenue NE, and along both sides of Second Avenue SE from East Sunset Way to SE Andrews Street.

On Aug. 23, and possibly on Aug. 24, westbound Sunset Way traffic will be rerouted during the hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for repaving.
