Auspicious Homes | Incorporating Vaastu-inspired design
Location: Sammamish City Hall, 801 228th Ave SE
On Dec. 19, learn about how Mike Stewart, a local builder, wants to change the housing industry by building Vaastu-inspired homes incorporating cloud-based technology. Complimentary mango lassi, a traditional, yogurt-based drink form India, will be provided at the free talk. For more information, email mike@auspicioushomes.builders.

Basketball coaching clinic
Location: Pacific Cascade Middle School, 24635 SE Issaquah-Fall City Road
9 a.m. — The Issaquah Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a coaching clinic for coaches in the youth basketball program. For those who teach kindergartners through second grade, the clinic runs 9 a.m. to noon. Alzheimer’s support group
Location: Swedish Medical Center – Issaquah Campus, Women’s Center Flex Space, 751 NE Blakely Dr
10:30 a.m. to noon — Alzheimer’s Association free family caregiver support groups provide a consistent and caring place for people to learn, share and gain emotional support from others who are also on a journey of providing care to a person with memory loss. Meetings are held the third Saturday of the month. For information call Helen Boyer at 425-301-0709.
Movies for a CURE: The Grinch
Location: Redmond/Sammamish Teen Center, 825 228th Ave NE, Sammamish
6 p.m. — Bring blankets and pillows and hunker in for a family movie night at the Teen Center. Pizza, cookies and beverages are available for purchase. Admission is $5 per person; children younger than 2 years old are free. Proceeds go toward researching a cure for Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, an extremely rare disease. 1 p.m. — Join the Sugar Plum Fairy for an interactive and free reading of The Nutcracker for young children. Come in your ballet or other Nutcracker-themed costume.

Hello Ruby | Adventures in coding
Location: Sammamish Library, 825 228th Ave SE
1 p.m. — Children ages 4-8, with an adult, are welcome to meet Ruby and her friends Snow Leopard, Django, the Robots, Foxes and Penguins. Listen to her story of imagination and problem solving then stay for fun, hands-on projects in open computational thinking for young children. Registration not required. Please arrive on time, space may be limited.
