Dr. Jonathan Himmelfarb, director of the Kidney Research Institute will hold a free lunchtime lecture about kidney and heart health Sept. 23. He will speak on the subject, “Protect your kidneys, save your heart.”
The event will be from noon to 1 p.m. at Swedish Medical Center Issaquah Campus, 751 NE Blakely Dr., Issaquah in Medical Office Building, room 2022.
Himmelfarb will discuss the connection between heart health and the kidneys, and current research to make tangible improvements in the lives of kidney patients. The public is encouraged to bring a lunch; dessert is complimentary.

The Kidney Research Institute was established in 2008 in Seattle as a collaboration between Northwest Kidney Centers and UW Medicine Division of Nephrology.
