DownTown Issaquah Association (DIA) has named Tanya Alter as its new community relations manager, a newly created position.

Alter, who most recently had been the community relations coordinator for Grimaldi’s Coffee House and special events coordinator for Providence Mount St. Vincent Foundation, will be in charge of managing and increasing association’s network of members, fundraising, planning and coordination of events, act as liaison with city of Issaquah and other private/public organizations.

The DIA, which has focused membership exclusively on the core business district of Historic Issaquah, will now expand its membership efforts to residents of Issaquah this year. Alter will spearhead this drive with social media and events.

“The restructure of the staff positions further strengthens our ability to meet the needs of our members going into the next decade,” noted David Irons, President of DIA. “Tanya Alter’s comprehensive understanding of events, social media, fundraising and community relations will greatly benefit DIA’s mission, members and the local Issaquah community.”

Alter has a masters of arts degree in Public Administration from California State University. She lives on the Issaquah Plateau.
