Transient takes a nap in garage of an unoccupied home | Sammamish Police Blotter May 10-21

The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city of Sammamish. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

May 10

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Police contacted an intoxicated male with a large head wound in the 23100 block of Northeast 15 Court around 4:45 p.m. The male advised police of a possible home invasion assault, but he refused to cooperate with he investigation.

May 12

MAIL THEFT: Someone tried to pry open four secured mail boxes in the 21800 block of Southeast 13 Place.

BROKEN: Someone broke the rear passenger window of a vehicle parked in a commercial parking garage in the 22800 block of Northeast Eighth Street.

DUI ACCIDENT: A DUI collision occurred in the 1400 block of 218th Avenue Northeast. The driver recorded a 0.175 and a 0.172 blood alcohol level. The legal limit is 0.08.

May 13

OH DEER: A young deer was injured in a collision in the 4200 block of 228th Avenue Southeast. Police euthanized the deer.

May 14

PACKAGES: Police responded to a home in the 1600 block of 211th Avenue Southeast regarding packages that had been stolen from the front porch.

May 15

BURGLARY: Someone burglarized an apartment garage in the 25200 block of Southeast Klahanie Boulevard and stole several tool boxes and small items. The garage had been locked.

TEMPER: Pine Lake Middle School, 3200 228th Ave. SE, alerted police that on May 14 a juvenile had lost control of his or her temper and physically fought kicking and screaming with two staff members.

HOODIES: Two males wearing hoodies attempted to burglarize an occupied home in the 22300 block of Northeast 17 Court.

JUVENILE ASSAULT: An older female Pine Lake Middle School student hit a younger male middle school student.

May 16

NAP TIME: A transient opened the garage door of an unoccupied home in the 22900 block of Southeast 18th Place. The home was under construction. The transient parked his or her car in the garage and slept inside. The reporting party did not want to trespass or prosecute. The transient was escorted out of the development.

WELFARE STATUS: Police were called to check up on the welfare of a 7-year-old who was dropped off at home in the 3800 block of Klahanie Drive Southeast by a taxi service. No one was home.

May 17

IDENTITY THEFT: Residents in the 21900 block of Southeast 37th Street were notified by Capital One that there was an attempt to open a credit card in their names.

ARREST: Police arrested a driver in the 23000 block of Northeast 19th Drive for failing to transfer the title.

May 18

SUICIDAL THOUGHTS: Police responded to 2600 block of 260th Place Southeast for a welfare check of a high school student who had mentioned having suicidal ideation to a friend during class. Based on what the student told police, he or she was involuntarily committed.

ARREST: Police arrested a driver in the 24200 block of Southeast Issaquah Fall City Road for driving with license suspended in the third degree. The driver was booked into Issaquah Jail.

May 19

ARREST, RELEASE: Police arrested a driver in the 26300 block of Southeast Duthie Hill Road for driving with a license suspended in the third degree. The driver was then released.

May 21

SMASH: Someone smashed the right rear window of a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 23800 block of Southeast 28th Street. Nothing seemed to be missing.
