A woman drove a SVU through her Lake Sammamish home late Friday night, killing her 70-year-old partner and 40-year-old son-in-law. Her daughter remains in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, the 68-year-old woman appeared to be moving her vehicle with her 3-year-old grandson in her lap. The white Jeep then drove through her home on the 3400 block of East Lake Sammamish Shore Lane Southeast. B.J. Myers, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said the back wheels caught on the edge of the deck and the woman and her grandson were able to exit the car unharmed.

The woman’s partner was killed on scene and her daughter and son-in-law were transported to Harborview where they were listed in critical condition. The son-in-law died at the hospital on Monday.

The woman was arrested over the weekend as police began an investigation on one count of vehicular homicide and two counts of vehicular assault. She was later released pending final charges.

Officers at the scene believed the woman might have been under the influence of some sort of drug, stating there was the strong smell of alcohol on her breath, but it will take up to three weeks before they receive a complete toxicology report.

The prosecutor’s office will determine final charges after all necessary reports are complete. If the woman was under the influence, she could be charged with vehicular homicide, resulting in a jail term of 20 years to life.
