Unknown person rams car off West Beaver Lake Drive | Sammamish Police blotter June 17-23

Reports were taken from King County Sheriff's Office incident logs

The blotter consists of Sammamish police officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in the city. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

June 17

LARCENY: Three vehicles were broken into, one thought to have been locked, on the 21200 block of Northeast 13th Court a couple days prior to the report. The owners found the contents of all three glove boxes strewn about.

June 19

ROAD RAGE: Someone intentionally rammed a vehicle off West Beaver Lake Drive Southeast, causing the victim to collide into the ditch. The unknown person rammed the stalled vehicle again before fleeing the scene.

June 21

NOT SAFE UNDER THE SEAT: After breaking the front passenger window of a vehicle parked in the Sammamish Landing Park located at 4607 East Lake Sammamish Parkway N.E., an unknown suspect stole a Redmond woman’s purse she had hidden under the passenger seat. The value of the purse and approximate damage totals to $340.

AN ‘E’ IS ALL THE DIFFERENCE: Police detained a 40-year-old Sammamish man off of 228th Avenue Southeast on suspicion that he had a $10,000 bail set out of Mukilteo, Washington, for driving while under the influence. The detained man insisted the officer had made a mistake, as the detainee had previously used his brother’s name when questioned by police. His brother’s first name, which was logged into the police’s system as an alternative for the man, closely matched the name of the wanted man; it was just missing an “e.” Once the officer requested a photo and realized he had the wrong man, the officer released him.

June 22

DRUG ACTIVITY REPORTED: A resident on the 20900 block of Southeast Eighth Place reported an ongoing issue with drug activity at the cul de sac down the road. She reported seeing several different vehicles drive to the end of the road and flashing lighters in the parked vehicles.

June 23

DIDN’T HAVE A NICKEL: Someone broke the front passenger window of a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of West Beaver Lake Drive and stole a reusable grocery bag from the front passenger side floorboard.
