The following information was compiled from city of Issaquah police reports:

An acquaintance called foul on a woman who reported a missing safe that had about $4,000 in Oxycodone pills Aug. 28.

The woman told police that in a rush, she accidentally left her house unlocked. She called the neighbors to have them lock it up for her.

She then said when she returned, the safe was missing.

Police made careful to note that nothing else, such as televisions, had been taken from the home on the 200 block of Mountain Park Boulevard Southwest. Still, they searched the neighbors house without avail.

The next day the acquaintance told police that she had done the same thing six months ago, hiding the safe at her ex-husbands home.

She told police it was a scam to get a new prescription for the pills, because she had run out.

Police found a report from the incident she described, where the woman had told police she needed the report to get more pills.

Brand new school vandalized – Someone did a $1,000 in damage to the brand New Issaquah High School, before the school even held its first class.

The project manager reported to police that someone uprooted copper wire along Second Avenue Southeast, cutting it, but then leaving it on top of a ditch Aug. 22.

The wires were a part of the school’s irrigation system. It will cost the contractors about $1,000 to fix the wires or about $3,500 to replace them.

There was no security at the worksite.

Tomatoes – A woman was driving along 1600 NE Park Dr. when a tomato was lobbed at her windshield Aug. 28.

Police checked the car for damage of which there was none. Police thought the assailants might be connected to another “tomatoing”.

Broken hearts cry loud – Police were dispatched to the Rainier Trail near the Issaquah Skate Park to investigate a loud person.

When they arrived, they found a boy who had been wailing. He told police he was sad because his girlfriend had just broken up with him. So the officer offered to give him a ride home, Aug 29.

Truck burns – A semi truck and trailer were set ablaze on the eastbound I-90 on-ramp from Front Street North Aug. 26.

Eastbound I-90 was temporarily shutdown while Eastside Fire and Rescue put out the blazes, and police made sure there weren’t any hazmat placards on the truck.

Bar fight – When a bartender tried to stop a fight from breaking up in a tavern on Front Street North, she was assaulted herself.

Someone grabbed her wrist and twisted it Aug. 13.

She told the man she was going to call police, when he left on a foot. She was able to identify the man in a police photo montage, but police didn’t know who he was.
