Woman dies in crash near Sammamish and Fall City

Two vehicles crashed near Tolt Hill Road along Redmond-Fall City Road, incinerating a dump truck.

Two vehicles collided around 11:39 a.m. Sept. 5 on State Route 202 near Tolt Hill Road between Fall City and Sammamish, killing a Redmond woman and incinerating a dump truck.

An SUV was traveling eastbound and crossed the center line along Redmond-Fall City Road and struck a dump truck head-on. Firefighters and medics responded to the scene and the SUV driver, 56-year-old Marian Bulger from Redmond, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The dump truck driver, who is from Snoqualmie, was taken to Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue for minor injuries.

The dump truck was fully engulfed in flames following the crash and blocked both lanes of the highway. The fire spread to the nearby hillside before firefighters extinguished it around 1 p.m.

The road was closed for seven hours and 14 minutes.
