Woman’s car crashes into bear in Sammamish

A woman escaped injury Thursday morning when her car crashed into a bear on Southeast Eighth Street in Sammamish.

 

A woman escaped injury Thursday morning when her car crashed into a bear on Southeast Eighth Street in Sammamish.

According to MyNorthwest.com, neither the woman nor the bear was hurt. However the car sustained damage to its front end was was not drivable.

“The driver was obviously a bit shaken up, but uninjured. And she saw the bear scoot off into the woods,” Sammamish Police Sgt. Jessica Sullivan.

Bears and other large animals often are seen in suburban areas in the springtime looking for food.
