WSP seeks witnesses to a felony hit and run collision

The hit and run took place at approximately 8:05 a.m. on June 20.

At approximately 8:05 a.m. on June 20, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) received a report of a collision SB SR 167 just south of I-405 involving a motorcycle.

Once troopers arrived, they discovered that the motorcycle rider, a 50 year old male from Sammamish, had sustained serious injuries. The motorcycle was traveling SB SR 167 in lane three when a blue sedan changed from lane two to lane three forcing the motorcycle to collide with the jersey barrier and go down ejecting the rider. The blue sedan continued south without stopping which is the reason the driver is being sought for Felony Hit and Run. No information on the running vehicle was obtained at the time of the collision.

The rider was stabilized by Renton Fire L864 and King County Medic One and subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center.

WSP detectives are seeking any information that would lead to identifying the blue sedan and the driver. Locals should contact Detective Vik Mauro at (425) 401-7746 or by email at victoria.mauro@wsp.wa.gov.
