Young children to receive screenings Jan. 29 | Encompass sets free afternoon drop-in session at Issaquah Library

Free developmental screenings let by Encompass, the children’s and family services organization serving Issaquah, Sammamish, the Snoqualmie Valley and the greater Eastside, will be offered Jan. 27.

Do you have questions about the development of your infant, toddler, preschooler or kindergartener?

You can take advantage of free developmental screenings let by Encompass, the children’s and family services organization serving Issaquah, Sammamish, the Snoqualmie Valley and the greater Eastside.

The session, set for Jan. 29 at the Issaquah Library, 10 West Sunset Way, is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah.

Parents can walk in with their children anytime between noon to 3:15 p.m. — first-come, first-served, with no appointment necessary. Bilingual staff will be available for Spanish-speaking families.

Encompass will screen children from age 3 months to 5 years old. Screenings will take just 10 minutes per child. Results will be available immediately. Parents will come away with a list of recommendations regarding motor, speech, self-help, social and cognitive skills.

“This is a prime opportunity to learn more about your child from the Encompass multi-disciplinary team of therapists and other staff experts,” says Nela Cumming, Encompass director of Pediatric Therapy Programs.
