Issaquah understands need for senior services | Letter

Thanks to the city of Issaquah, powers that be, as well as Issaquah Senior Nutrition Program for providing "more than just a meal" to seniors.

Thanks to the city of Issaquah, powers that be, as well as Issaquah Senior Nutrition Program for providing “more than just a meal” to seniors.

Issaquah Senior Center members received the center’s monthly newsletter in March and were informed that Catholic Community Services would not be serving a meal on Friday, “in honor of Good Friday.” Catholic Community Services is, however, provided lunch on Good Friday in many other locations in the Pacific Northwest, so why would they ignore Issaquah? Clearly, Catholic Community Services did not ignore Issaquah or the opportunity to feed our senior citizens. They were unable to serve at Issaquah Senior Center because the center was closed for four entire days March 25-28.

The city provided another location and Catholic Community Services, Issaquah Senior Nutrition Program rose to the occasion to provide a meal at another location where Issaquah seniors were welcomed with friendship and a meal. Thank you for truly understanding the need for senior services.
