Area athletes ink with colleges

Several local high school athletes prepared to take their next step on Wednesday, inking with future colleges on National Letter of Intent signing day.

Several local high school athletes prepared to take their next step on Wednesday, inking with future colleges on National Letter of Intent signing day.

Skyline High held a ceremony, honoring three of its athletes. Highly-touted wide receiver Gino Simone signed with Washington State University. Simone had 861 yards receiving and 14 touchdown receptions for the 4A state champions. Lineman Rob Tramonte signed with Idaho State and soccer player Kiara Williams signed with Arizona State University. She had eight goals and eight assists, helping the Spartans to their first state title.

Eastlake had five student athletes sign letters. Three of those signees came from the girls soccer team. Emma Levy signed to play soccer at Washington State, Mackenzie Garrett signed to play at St. Mary’s College and Diana Pollock signed to play at Western Washington University. Defender Jordan Strong signed to play soccer at the University of Washington and Turner Lee committed to play football at Central Washington University.

Issaquah had five seniors commit, including two football players, two girls soccer players and a softball player.

Sean Stuby, a tight end and defensive end, signed with Central Washington University, while lineman Christian Rennie signed with Southern Utah University.

Molly Gottlieb, a forward on the soccer team, signed with the University of Tampa and goalkeeper Nicole Eddings signed with Regis University. Softball player Kenna Olsen signed with the University of North Dakota.
