Eagles split two

Issaquah beat Mount Rainier 7-1 in a non-league game behind three first inning runs and runs batted in from four different players.

Three pitchers worked on the mound in the win, led by the four innings of Jake Dellinger, who struck out five.

The bats were quiet in a 2-1 loss to Roosevelt, as Ty Gibson was the hard luck loser after going five innings and two-thirds, striking out seven and allowing only one earned run.

Redmond 1 Eastlake 0

Kyle Francis tossed a complete game shutout, striking out three Wolves to get the win for Redmond in the rivalry matchup on the diamond.

Mick Vorhof nearly equalled his effort for Eastlake, also working a complete game with seven strikeouts and only one run on four hits.

Francis also did the damage at the plate for the Mustangs, collecting a solo homer for the game’s only run.

EC drops pair

The Panthers scored seven first inning runs en route to the 12-1 win over the Crusaders.

A non-league Saturday game against Kentwood also saw EC get off to a slow start, as the Conquerors scored five in the first frame and never looked back, winning 6-3.

Softball

Issaquah 8 Bothell 11

The Eagles led 4-0 after the first inning, but fell victim to a Bothell comeback in an 11-8 loss.

Eastlake wins pair

Mikel Charles tossed a complete game in the circle to get the win for the Wolves and Corina Jones knocked in three runs in a 9-5 victory over Ballard.

Charles added three hits and a RBI at the plate.

The wolves came back from that win with another, 6-5 in a non-league game with 3A Glacier Peak.

Eastside Catholic 16 Seattle Prep 6

The Crusaders scored six runs in the second inning to get the win over rival Prep.

Caroline Bowman struck out five Falcons in the loss.

Boys soccer

Newport 5 Eastlake 1

Five different Newport players scored a gaol and Gordon Kuenster had three assists as the Knights picked up the win.

Dimitri Popoff, Kaleb Karlek, Roy Cho, Avery Lawrenson and Maika Fuji found the net for Newport.

Omar Luqman scored the only Eastlake goal from Amr Atler.

Issaquah 3 Roosevelt 0

The Eagles got goals from Josh Zhou, Michael Callan and Ryan Higgins and a shutout in goal from Saif Kerawala in the win over Roosevelt.

Skyline 2 Ballard 0

Jack O’Keefe and Alex Appel held Ballard scoreless and Jason Twaddle (from Jake Therrien) and Nick Morgan (from Matthew Richardson) scored goals in the win.
