Eastlake faces West Valley at 7 p.m., Friday in Yakima. They face Davis at 1 p.m., Saturday in Yakima.

Crusaders tally second win

Eastside Catholic scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday to defeat Chief Sealth 5-4.

Matt Wenzinger recorded a two-run single for the Crusaders, who had just three hits as a team. Charlie Ory also had an RBI.

Kyle Jaske earned the victory on the mound and Blake Gillespie picked up the save.

Eastside improved to 2-0 on the season with the victory. They are scheduled to face Cleveland at 4 p.m., today at Marymoor Park.

Issaquah nets shutout over Auburn Mountainview

Michael Roberts scored two goals Wednesday night, helping Issaquah to a 3-0 victory over non-league Auburn Mountainview.

His first score came in the 25th minute and he added another in the 72nd minute. Nick Smith, who had an assist on one of Roberts’ goals, added a goal in the 70th minute.

Goalkeeper Nathan King recorded the shutout for the Eagles, who improved to 2-0-1.

Eastlake takes down non-league Mount Si

Eastlake defeated non-league Mount Si on Wednesday, 4-1.

No stats were reported for the Wolves, who moved to 1-1 overall.

Eastlake blanked by Juanita

Eastlake managed just one hit in its first game of the season Wednesday, falling 10-0 to Juanita in six innings.

The Rebels’ Allison Rhodes and Abbie Oswald were dominant in the pitching circle, striking out a combined eight and walking just one.

The Wolves face Plateau neighbor Eastside Catholic at 4 p.m., today at Eastlake.

Tahoma routs Skyline in opener

Tahoma scored 17 runs in the first inning of Wednesday’s season-opener to defeat Skyline 17-2.

Erika Wolfe led the Spartans at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a double.

Samii Jiminez went 3-for-4 at the plate with 3 RBI and two doubles. She had seven strikeouts in the pitching circle.

Skyline faces Bonney Lake at 4 p.m., today on the road.

Eastside Catholic took an early lead, but couldn’t hold on Wednesday, falling 13-2 to Chief Sealth.

The Crusaders fell to 0-2 on the season with the loss. They face Eastlake at 4 p.m., today on the road.

Skyline edges Bothell

Skyline’s Byra Vowels tied Bothell’s Sydney Howard with medalist honors Wednesday afternoon, helping the Spartans to a 308-312 victory.

Vowels recorded a 57, while teammates Shirley Chung and Kacy Cunningham finished third and fifth, respectively, with a 59 and 61.

Newport downs Eastlake

Newport nabbed four of the top five places Wednesday afternoon, defeating Eastlake 222-261 at Newcastle Golf Club.

The Knights’ Nicole Lomax won medalist honors with a 5-over par, 41.

Eastlake’s Jamie Midkiff finished fourth with an 8-over par, 44.

Eastlake tripped up by Mercer Island, EC falls to Bellevue

Colton Knebel scored four goals and collected six ground balls as Mercer Island cruised to their first boys Division I high school lacrosse win of the season, 19-1 over Eastlake.  Avery Harkins had 11 saves for the Wolves. In other local action, Bellevue downed Eastside Catholic 11–3.
