Eastlake boys, Issaquah relays set for state title runs | Prep sports news

The Wolves' boys and Eagles' girls, along with Skyline's duo of Dalzell and Daugherty, look to capture state titles at the final prep meet of the season

The 4A state track and field championships begin May 29, and continue May 30-31, with the majority of the track event finals set for Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.

Eastlake, Skyline and Issaquah each have state title hopes, led by the Wolves’ district champion boys squad.

Eastlake brothers Troy and Drew Lewis are in the field for the 100 and 200 meter dashes.

Matt Morrison will take his turn in the 400 for the Wolves, while Nathan Pixler will run the 800.

Brandon Naluai will compete in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles for Eastlake.

Both Lewis brothers, along with Pixler and Morrison, have Eastlake in the field for the 1,600 meter relay. Joshua Colbert has the sixth best mark on the year in the triple jump field.

Joseph Ellis is in the field for the discus.

Issaquah’s Jake Nienhuis is in the field for for the 400.

Jaylen Carr, Jason Crandall, Nienhuis, Ray Littles, John Crandall and Mo Osman will comprise a foursome for the 400 meter relay.

Caleb Pearson has a top-10 mark entering the javelin competition.

Skyline’s Jack Welch, Brendan Long, Joseph Bretl, Tyler Ma, Blake Hallauer and Brandon Graue will make a quartet in the 1,600 meter relay.

Bryan Lee will compete in the discus.

Gabrielle Gevers is set to compete in the 100 meter dash for the Issaquah girls.

Gevers also qualified for state in the 200. Cayla Seligman will run the 3,200 for the Eagles.

Issaquah has the top seed time in the 800 meter relay after breaking the KingCo and district records at the bi-district championships, and also has a foursome in the 1,600 meter relay.

Mack Wieburg will compete in the high jump.

Skyline senior Dorie Dalzell will run the 200 and 400 meter dashes. Teammate Alexis Daugherty is in the field for the 800 and 1,600.

The Spartans will also be after a state title in the 400, 800 and 1,600 meter relays.

Geneva Ecola is in the long jump field for Skyline, and Vaiva Snapkauskaite will compete in the shot put.

Eastlake’s Anna Carskaden is in the field for the 300. Ellie Woerner is in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles fields. The Wolves also have a team in the 400 meter relay.
