Eastlake defeats 2014 state champ

Last year’s Class 4A state champion was stunned in the opening week of the 2015 high school football season.

The Eastlake Wolves registered a 22-19 victory on the road against the Class 4A state champion Bothell Cougars on Sept. 4 at Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell. Eastlake (1-0) will host Inglemoor in their home opener at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 at Eastlake High School in Sammamish.

Crusaders capture win in Honor Bowl

The Eastside Catholic Crusaders left Southern California with a convincing victory in their back-pockets.

The Crusaders, who captured the Class 3A state championship in December of 2014, crushed Oceanside 49-13 in San Diego’s Honor Bowl football game in the season opener on Sept. 4. Eastside Catholic (1-0) will face the Enumclaw Hornets at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the King County Fairgrounds.
