Scores, highlights and updates from prep sports in Issaquah and Sammamish.

Skyline’s Tristan Steciw finished with a 3-2 mark in California at the Shark Tank Invitational tournament, where the Spartans competed against 97 placers from California’s Masters (similar to Washington’s regional round) or state.

Bo Longmore, Joseph DeMatteo and Kody Nguyen also won matches.

A pair of Skyline’s girls wrestlers also competed in a tournament, placing 16th out of 39 teams at the Queen of the Hill.

Addie Mejia won all four of her matches to take the championship at 121 pounds, and Melanie Quevedo lost both of her matches at 116.

Skyline lost a dual match 45-25 to Woodinville.

The Spartans got wins from Garin Swanson (138), Brennon Raphael, Nate Swanson (120) and Nathan Jensen (126). Kody Nguyen won by forfeit at 113.

Girls basketball

Eastlake 53 Ballard 41

The Lady Wolves controlled things throughout behind a game high 17 points from Marijke Vanderschaaf.

Ellie Woerner scored 10 and Maggie Douglas added seven more for Eastlake.

Eastside Catholic 64 Bainbridge 39

The Crusaders got a game high 24 points from Ashley Blanton and 14 more from Katie Spires in the win.

Bothell 54 Issaquah 42

The Eagles fell behind early and couldn’t mount a comeback, despite a team high 12 points from Mackenzie Wieburg.

Woodinville 59 Skyline 51

The Spartans dug a double-digit hole in the first quarter and couldn’t climb out in the loss.

Shelby Kassuba scored 20 and Kailey Kassuba added 14 more.
