The Wolves were out in front on the girls side and third in the boys meet. Issaquah, Eastlake and Skyline will each send a complete team to next week's district meet.

Eastlake girls take KingCo title

Eastlake used three top-13 finishes, including a fifth place time of 18 minutes, 48 seconds from senior Anastasia Kosykh to win the 4A KingCo girls cross country title at Lincoln Park in Seattle.

The Wolves finished well in front of second place Roosevelt and will send an entire team to next week’s District 2 Meet with state berths on the line.

Devon Bortfeld was seventh in a personal record time of 18:51.7 and senior Nicole Stinnett also ran a personal best time, 19:10.2 to finish in 13th and Kristen Flindt finished 20th for Eastlake in 19:42.1 to earn a personal record.

Skyline sophomore Maizy Brewer ran a personal record time of 18:34.1 to finish third and qualify for districts, along with teammate Alex Daugherty, who was ninth.

Ellie Clawson was sixth for Issaquah in 18:50.0.

Boys finish third

Sophomore Nathan Pixler ran a personal best time of 15:56.7 to finish in tenth place for the Wolves, leading his team to a third place team finish and spot in next week’s district race.

Senior Caleb Olson was 17th in 16:05.4, just in front of teammate Adamson Bryant.

Issaquah sophomore Keenan Schrag qualified for districts with a 12th place finish in a personal record time of 15:59.9.

Skyline senior Joey Nakao was the highest finisher for the Spartans in 23rd.

All three local boys and girls teams will take a full complement of runners back to Lincoln Park Nov. 2 for the district meet with 4A Wesco competitors. The top five teams and any individuals not from one of those teams in the top-25 will qualify to the 4A state cross country meet in Pasco.
