The District 9 champions are headed to the state Little League tournament.

The Eastlake Majors All Stars are headed to the state tournament in Vancouver after five straight wins in the District 9 Little League baseball tournament.

The squad from Eastlake downed Redmond West before winning games against Kirkland American, Sammamish and Mercer Island to reach the title game.

In the rematch and with the championship on the line, Jack Matheson held down Mercer Island as Jacob Dahlstrom finished with three hits, including a home run, as Eastlake won 5-0 to keep its hopes of a spot in the Little League World Series alive.

First up at Luke Jensen Sports Park in Vancouver are the District 10 champions from Federal Way in a 1:30 p.m. game Saturday. The winner of the ten team, double elimination tournament will be the state’s representative at the regional level for one of eight US spots in Williamsport, Penn.

Issaquah went 3-2 in the tournament, with both losses coming to Mercer Island, and nearly reached the championship game. Sammamish won games over Falls and Bellevue West before falling to Eastlake and then Redmond North in the following game.
