Eastlake Little League routs Alaska 10-2 in Regional opener

The Eastlake Little League All-Stars got off to a powerful start at the Northwest Regionals in San Bernardino, Calif., Friday morning, beating the Alaska 10-2.

The Eastlake Little League All-Stars got off to a powerful start at the Northwest Regionals in San Bernardino, Calif., Friday morning, beating the Alaska 10-2.

Jack Carper sparked the offense leading off the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run to right centerfield. Jacob Dahlstrom added two-run home run in the fourth inning that bounced off the snack shack in right field.

Will Armbruester and Jack Matheson each added two RBI apiece for Eastlake, which collected 10 total hits.

The team from Sammamish continues Northwest Regional pool play at 5 p.m., tomorrow, Aug. 3 against Wyoming. The game is available for viewing online on ESPN3.

Eastlake is scheduled to face Montana at 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5 and Oregon at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6.

The top four of six Northwest Regional teams move on to the semifinals Aug. 8. The top two teams play at 2 p.m., Aug. 10 for the right to represent the Northwest at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. The semifinal and championships will be broadcast live on ESPN.
