Eastside Catholic jumped out to a fast two-game lead over Seattle Prep Wednesday night, then held on to beat the Panthers in five games, 25-21, 25-20, 23-25, 17-25, 15-11.
Cami Silverman had 21 kills, 22 digs and two aces, while Brooke Bachesta had 18 kills, 11 digs and two blocks for the Crusaders. Kameron McLain added eight kills, three aces and five blocks, and Kelsey Miller had 46 assists.
Eastside Catholic, which was ranked No. 2 in the latest Volleyball State Coaches Association poll, improved to 3-1 in league and 6-1 overall with the victory. Seattle Prep was ranked No. 3 in the poll.
Next up for the Crusaders is Bainbridge on Monday, Oct. 5.
Issaquah wins second straight
Issaquah defeated Lake Washington in three games Wednesday night, 25-7, 25-13, 25-18. It was the second straight league victory for the Eagles, who improved to 3-1 in league and 3-4 overall.
Stephanie Stoll led the team in kills with 11, while Alyssa Schultz and Sarah Hanna each had 10. Riley Sorenson had 35 assists and Alexa Batquin had a team-high 11 digs.
Issaquah hosts Ballard at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5.
Skyline downs Redmond
Skyline defeated Ballard in four games Wednesday night, 25-17, 25-16, 20-25, 25-18.
Maddie Magee had an impressive 18 kills, while Olivia Marquardt tallied 14 kills and 14 digs.
Kennedy Stoa had 30 assists.
The Spartans improved to 2-2 in league and 2-5 overall with the victory.
Skyline faces Inglemoor on the road, Monday, Oct. 5.
Eastlake swept by Woodinville
Eastlake fell in three straight games to Woodinville Wednesday night, 25-17, 25-13, 25-12. The Falcons were led by Ali Forde’s 10 kills and Nikki Conley’s 36 assists. No stats were reported for the Wolves, who fell to 2-2 in league and 3-3 overall. Eastlake competes in a Bellevue College this Saturday, before traveling to Bothell on Monday, Oct. 5.
