EC tops Lakeside, Skyline slips past Garfield | Prep sports roundup

EC beat Lakeside for the second time in a week and Skyline escaped late against Garfield in boys soccer.

Baseball

Eastside Catholic 5 Lakeside 0

Eastside Catholic got six innings of two-hit work from Blake Gillespie while Alex Foley and Hayden Meier both finished with a pair of base hits in the 5-0 win over the Lions.

Gillespie struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

Skyline 4 Richland 5

Skyline surrendered a run in the bottom of the seventh inning and fell to Richland 5-4 despite RBI from Corbin Powers, Brandon Fischer and Patrick Harrod. Jim Sinatro, Jack Valencia and Connor Gilchrist all checked in with base hits for the Spartans in the loss.

Skyline 6 Kamiakin 7

Kamiakin put together a four run first inning and like its Tri-Cities counterparts earned a walk-off win over Skyline 7-6.

Seven Skyline players had base hits.

Skyline 3 Garfield 2

Skyline trailed 1-0 when Bradley Rustik on an assist from Cole Calabro and answered a Garfield equalizer on a Ryan Shim score, again from Calabro in the 76th minute for what would prove the decisive goal.

Sean McDonald scored off a Evan Botsch assist as well.

Girls lacrosse

Eastside Catholic 14 Mukilteo 6

Tristana Leist scored seven goals and Lauren Breynaert added five more as the Crusaders earned the 14-6 win over Mukilteo.
