Issaquah knocked off fifth-ranked Garfield 62-46 behind Maddey Pflaumer’s game-high 23 points.

The aggressive Eagles wasted little time taking a lead. Issaquah was up 24-12 after one quarter and 35-24 at halftime. The Eagles continued to outscore the Bulldogs over the next two quarters, improving to 2-0 in league and 3-0 overall.

Issaquah guards Blaire Brady and Taryn Holmes added nine points apiece.

Eastlake edges Skyline

Eastlake won a close battle on the Plateau Friday night, knocking off Skyline 42-38.

The Wolves carried a 31-30 lead into the the fourth quarter, holding on behind the 16 points of Kendra Morrison and 12 of Alyssa Charlston.

Amy Ziegler paced the Spartans with a team-high 10 points, while Kassia Fortier added nine. Eastlake improved to 1-1 in league and 3-1 overall with the victory. Skyline dropped to 0-2 in league and 2-2 overall.

Eastside comes up shy to Prep

A one-point deficit quickly turned into a double-digit defeat for Eastside Catholic Friday night.

The Crusaders trailed 37-36 headed into the fourth quarter before falling 63-50.

Eastside sophomore guard Michaela O’Rourke led the Crusaders with 17 points. Prep was paced by the game-high 31 points of Kari Luttinen.

Eastside fell to 1-2 in league and 2-2 overall with the loss. They won just one game last season.
