Defending 4A state soccer champion Skyline secured a 2-1 victory Thursday night over Plateau rival Eastlake.

Defending 4A state soccer champion Skyline secured a 2-1 victory Thursday night over Plateau rival Eastlake.

The Spartans struck twice in the second half. Jackie Wilson scored in the 53rd off an assist from Maddie Christ and Coral Anderson scored in the 74th minute via an assist from Anna Morgan.

Eastlake tallied its score off an own goal.

The Spartans improved to 2-0 in league and 6-1 overall with the victory. The Wolves fell to 1-1 in league and 3-3 overall.

Issaquah rallies from behind to beat Inglemoor

Issaquah fell behind, but battled back for a 2-1 home victory Thursday night over Inglemoor.

The Vikings struck first in the 21st minute via an unassisted goal from Kailah Bryan. Margaret Rauch answered four minutes later punching in a goal off an assist from Dayna Talley. Lindsay Stoll scored the go-ahead goal in the 50th minute off an assist from Rauch.

The Eagles moved to 2-0 in league and 5-1 overall.

Crusaders tie Spartans

Eastside Catholic narrowly missed winning its sixth straight game Thursday night to begin the 2009 season, tying Bainbridge 1-1.

The Crusaders took a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute when Kellie Standish knocked in a goal off an assist from Emily Franceschina. The Spartan’s Maddie Ginder booted in an unassisted goal in the 79th and final minute, however, to leave the game in a tie.

Eastside Catholic is now 1-0-1 in league and 5-0-1 overall.
