Beamer defeats Eastlake in regional  basketball playoff contest

The Beamer Titans defeated the Eastlake Wolves 58-39 in a winner-to-state, loser-out regional playoff game on Feb. 27 at Puyallup High School in Puyallup.

The Wolves finished the 2015-16 season with a 17-8 overall record. The Wolves put together a formidable 3-2 record during the playoffs, earning wins against Skyline, Inglemoor and Camas but suffered losses to Bothell and Beamer.

Gomez captures first place at coveted event at Mount Baker competition

Issaquah resident Isabella Gomez, 14, captured first place at the 30th annual Mount Baker Legendary Banked Slalom in the women’s amateur event on Feb. 21. Gomez clocked a time of 2:16.88.

Eagles will host Knights in KingCo matchup between stellar programs

The Issaquah Eagles will host the Newport Knights at 4 p.m. on March 23 in a KingCo rivalry showdown in Issaquah.

Skyline to host Peninsula in non-league early season matchup

The Skyline Spartans will host the Peninsula Seahawks in a non-league game at 4 p.m. on March 18 at Skyline High School in Sammamish.
