Issaquah won nine total events, earning 85 team points. Woodinville (59) and Redmond (35) rounded out the field.

Farmer finished first in the 100 meters (11.1 seconds), 200 (23.1) and long jump (18 feet, 7 inches). He also joined Allen Su, Alex Rylander and Jorell Dorsey on the 400 relay. The team edged Woodinville by two-tenths of a second, winning in 44.8 seconds.

Other individual winners included Tom Howe (1,600), Turner Wiley (3,200), Mike Baba (javelin) and Dorsey (triple jump). The 1,600 relay of Trevor Dolan, Isaac Robinson, Su and Dorsey also finished first in 3:36.8.

The Issaquah girls placed second of three teams on Thursday with 74 points. Redmond won with 82.5 and Woodinville was third with 32.5.

The Eagles won seven events, led by multiple victories from Haley Jacobson and Lauren Bruner.

Jacobson finished first in the 100 (12.2) and 200 (25.4) and Bruner was first in the 100 hurdles (16.3) and 300 hurdles (50.0).

The Eagles also earned individual wins from Amelia Meigs (pole vault) and McKenna Hogan (long jump). The 800 relay of Julianna da Cruz, Kim Varney, Mack Wieburg and Jacobson won in 1:45.8.

BASEBALL

Newport blanks Issaquah

Newport pitcher Jared Fisher was lights out Thursday afternoon, allowing just two Issaquah hits as the Knights won 5-0.

The senior struck out 11 Issaquah batters and walked just two over six innings of work.

The Knights got on the board in the top of the first on Nate Anderson’s solo home run. They tacked on four more runs in the top of the third, capitalizing on three singles and three walks off of starter Andrew Kemmerer.

Gavin Schumaker and Scott Boydston recorded the Eagles’ only two hits on back-to-back singles in the bottom of the third.

Issaquah dropped to 6-5 in league and 8-9 overall. Newport improved to 8-3 and 11-4.

Eastlake no-hit by Redmond

Redmond pitcher Zach Abbruzza pitched a five-inning no-hitter Thursday afternoon as the Mustangs defeated Eastlake 11-0.

Dylan Davis had a big day at the plate for Redmond, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and a home run.

The loss was the 12th straight for the Wolves, who fell to 0-10 in league and 3-12 overall.

Skyline grabs sole possession of first

Skyline grabbed sole possession of first place in the KingCo 4A Thursday night, beating Bothell 3-2 on the road.

The Spartans jumped out to a fast 3-0 lead, before holding off a late Cougar run.

Pedro Miola put Skyline on the board in the 4th minute on an assist from Braxton Griffin. Travis Strawn then added goals in the 15th and 24th minutes.

Bothell battled back to score in the 38th and 48th minutes.

Skyline improved to 6-0-1 in league and 10-0-2 overall. They are currently one win ahead of Eastlake (5-1-1) and Garfield (5-1-1) in the league standings.

GOLF

Eastlake defends home course against rival Skyline

Eastlake defended its home course against Plateau rival Skyline Thursday afternoon at Sahalee Country Club, winning by 17 strokes, 272-289.

The Wolves’ Megan Wotherspoon claimed medalist honors, shooting a 7-over par, 43. Eastlake’s Jamie Midkif was second (52), while Skyline’s Shirley Chung was third (54).

The Spartans’ Bryalynn Vowels (56) finished fourth while teammate Kacy Cunningham and the Wolves’ Taylor Finlon tied for fifth with 58s.

TENNIS

Newport sweeps Eastlake in seven matches

Newport claimed all singles and doubles matches Thursday afternoon, beating Eastlake 7-0.

The Knights won all their matches in straight sets.

Eastlake’s No. 3 doubles team of Teresa Wu and Wendy Yeung put forth the most points in their 6-3, 6-3 loss to Allison Lee and Crystal Shen.
