The Eagles finished second in the state in 4A girls soccer, falling to Central Valley in a shootout in the title match.

Issaquah finished its season as the runner-up in Class 4A girls soccer for the second consecutive season, falling in penalty kicks to Central Valley in the state championship match Saturday at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.

Junior forward and KingCo Co-Player of the Year Devan Talley put the Eagles up 1-0 in the first half and senior Juliana Da Cruz again gave her team an advantage later in the game after the Bears had tied things and 1-1.

But a late strike in regulation sent the game to overtime and after a scoreless frame, it was Central Valley that prevailed in the shootout.

Rachel Wheeler scored a pair of goals and Tala Fry added another as Issaquah won its semi-final game 3-0 over Olympia on Friday.

The championship appearance was the third for Issaquah since 2009.
