Blaire Brady led the way for Issaquah with a team-high 10 points. Quincey Gibson scored eight while Sabrina Norton, Mackenzie Schiltz and Morgan Young had seven apiece.

The Eagles dropped their previous two games in the tournament, falling 55-38 to Etiwanda, Calif., and 59-54 to Chandler, Ariz.

Issaquah (4-2) concludes the tournament today against Dillard of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Eastlake comes up big in fourth quarter

The Eastlake girls basketball team turned a third-quarter deficit into a 10-point win Tuesday night, beating Garfield 51-41 in Sammamish.

The Wolves outscored the Bulldogs 22-11 in the fourth quarter.

Kendra Morrison led the way for Eastlake with a game-high 24 points. Abby Carlson and Caleigh McCabe added nine and seven points, respectively, as Eastlake improved to a perfect 6-0 on the season.

The Wolves have a little less than a week off before heading to the Surf and Slam tournament in San Diego, Calif.

Skyline rally falls just short

Skyline nearly overcame a seven-point deficit Tuesday, but came up just short to Woodinville, 36-35.

The Spartans trailed 32-25 headed into the final quarter, but couldn’t get over the hump.

Skyline junior Megan Weideman led all scorers with 12 points. Haley Smith and Christy Cofano scored eight and seven, respectively.

The Spartans fell to 2-2 in league and 4-3 overall with the loss. Up next for Skyline is the Cactus Jam tournament, Dec. 27-30 in Phoenix, Ariz.

EC falls to non-league Mount Si

Michaela O’Rourke’s season-high 21 points wasn’t enough for Eastside Catholic Tuesday night as the Crusaders fell 61-43 to non-league Mount Si.

The Wildcats took a 27-20 halftime lead and continued to pull away in the second half.

Eastlake Catholic fell to 1-7 overall with the loss. The Crusaders take a week off before facing Hazen, Dec. 28.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Skyline fends off Woodinville

Skyline held on for its second league win of the season Tuesday night, beating Woodinville 40-38 in Sammamish.

The Spartans were led by junior guard Will Parker’s 13 points. Kasen Williams and Brian Cikatz scored nine and seven points, respectively.

Skyline improved to 2-1 in league and 4-2 overall with the victory. The Spartans face non-league Mariner tonight in Everett before hosting Nevada’s Bishop Manogue at 2 p.m., Dec. 30.

Issaquah comes up short to Inglemoor

Inglemoor jumped out to a fast start Tuesday and never looked back, beating Issaquah 67-54.

The Vikings led 21-6 after the first quarter, providing all the cushion they needed.

Nick Price led the Eagles with 18 points, while Derek Quan scored 17. Inglemoor had three players in double-figures led by Tyler Bobin’s 18 points.

Issaquah dropped to 1-3 in league and 3-4 overall. The Eagles face Kennedy Catholic next at 7 p.m. in the annual Comcast high school basketball tournament.

Garfield runs away from Eastlake

Top-ranked Garfield showed its offensive prowess Tuesday night, hammering Eastlake 95-65 in Sammamish.

Twelve players scored for the Bulldogs, led by University of Washington-bound Tony Wroten’s 18 points.

Senior guard Conner Iraola led the Wolves with 14 points and Abdu Elkugia scored 13.

Eastlake fell to 1-4 in league and 2-5 overall with the loss. The Wolves travel to San Diego next on Dec. 27-29 to play in the Surf and Slam tournament.
