Nick Price scored a game-high 28 points for the Eagles and Steven Rael scored 10.

Issaquah, which trailed 14-12 after the first quarter, erupted for 25 points in the second quarter, taking a 37-23 halftime lead.

The Eagles, who moved to 4-4 overall, face Mount Rainier at 7 p.m. tonight in the tournament semifinals. The winner will face either Kentlake or Ballard Thursday in the tournament championship.

Eastlake nets win in San Diego

Eastlake traveled all the way to San Diego to net a victory over an in-state opponent on Tuesday afternoon.

The Wolves defeated Mark Morris of Longview 71-57 in the second round of the Surf and Slam tournament.

Four players scored in double-figures for the Wolves. Brandon Lester scored a team-high 20 points, Eric Holmdahl had 18, Conner Iraola had 13 and Nick Kassuba added 10.

Eastlake, now 3-6 overall, continues the tournament Thursday in a fourth-sixth place game against another in-state opponent, Monroe.

Eastside Catholic falls shy of upset

Eastside Catholic battled toe-to-toe with Inglemoor in the opening round of Tuesday’s Bellevue College Holiday Tournament, but the upset-minded Crusaders fell just short, 53-48.

The score was tied 26-26 at halftime, but a 9-0 run to start the third quarter was too much for Eastside to overcome.

Matt Callans scored a team-high 17 points and Joey Schreiber scored 15.

The Crusaders dropped to 2-5 overall. They face Renton today.

Eastlake vies for Surf and Slam title

Eastlake moved a step closer to winning the Surf and Slam tournament championship in San Diego, Calif., on Tuesday, beating Justin-Siena of Napa, Calif., 58-49.

Katy Ainslie and Taylor Boe scored 14 points apiece to lead the Wolves while Kendra Morrison added eight.

Eastlake, which improved to 8-0 overall on the season, will face in-state competitor Lynden on Thursday for the tournament championship.

Skyline earns a pair of wins

Skyline picked up a pair of victories Tuesday in Phoenix’s Cactus Jam tournament, beating Riverside, B.C. 56-30 and San Tan, Ariz., 52-12.

Megan Weideman led the Spartans in the first game with 13 points. Susie Tinker and Haley Smith added 10 apiece.

Allie Wyszynski led nine Skyline scorers in the second game with 10 points. The Spartans led San Tan 18-0 after one quarter and never looked back.

Skyline moved to 7-3 overall with the wins. The tournament concludes Thursday.

Hazen edges Eastside Catholic

Eastside Catholic grabbed an 11-2 first-quarter lead over Hazen on Tuesday, but couldn’t hang on, eventually falling 38-35.

Shannon Graves led the Crusaders with 12 points while Michaela O’Rourke added nine. Hazen’s Airashay Rogers led all scorers with 19.

Eastside Catholic fell to 1-8 overall with the loss.
