Issaquah volleyball players earn all-league honors

Eagles compete in district tournament.

Four members of the Issaquah volleyball team were given 4A KingCo all-league honors. Senior middle hitter Maya Patton and junior right-side hitter Sadie Bacon were both named to the first team. Senior middle hitter Sidney Cottrell and junior Abby May were named to the second team.

The Eagles finished third at the 4A KingCo tournament, picking up wins over Skyline (3-0), Bothell (3-0) and Eastlake (3-2) and a loss to Mount Si (3-2). Issaquah opened the 4A Wes-King tournament with a 3-0 victory against the Kamiak Knights on Nov. 9 at Jackson High School. Later that day, the Eagles lost 3-2 to the Jackson Timberwolves. After dropping the first two sets (22-25 and 19-25) the Eagles won the third and fourth sets (26-24 and 25-22) to force the fifth set. The Timberwolves won the final set, 15-13. Issaquah was set to face the Newport Knights on Nov. 12 in a loser-out game at Mariner High School, after the Reporter’s deadline.
