Issaquah’s Goree finishes seventh overall in all-around gymnastics

Issaquah was small in numbers at the 4A state gymnastics meet, but junior Olivia Goree represented in a big way.

Goree finished seventh overall in Friday’s all-around competition at the Tacoma Dome with 36.05 points. Woodinville’s Hailey Wells won the all-around event with 37.9 points.

Goree earned her highest finish in all-around on the beam, taking fourth overall with a score of 9.3. She was 15th on the bars (8.65), 23rd on the floor (9.325) and 26th on the vault (8.775).

Teammates Risa Fukuda placed 20th on the floor (9.375) and 23rd on the vault (8.9), while Eva Perry was 34th on the floor (9.125).

Goree also earned a third-place finish in the individual beam competition on Saturday earning a score of 9.3. Only Woodinville’s Mary McIntosh (9.5) and Kristin Gollofon (9.475) scored higher.
