The 18U baseball team is headed to Regionals, after finishing second at state

The Lakeside Recovery 18U Babe Ruth baseball team earned a spot in the Pacific Northwest Regional championships in Vancouver, Wash. next week, after finishing second at the state tournament in Port Angeles.

Lakeside beat Port Angeles Wilder twice to start the tournament, before falling 4-2 to the Columbia Basin Desert Dogs.

But a 7-3 win over the Spokane Crew gave them a second place finish, behind five innings on the mound from Issaquah High School rising senior Jake Partlow.

Skyline’s Tommy Swinscoe hit a pair of home runs and knocked in five of his team’s seven runs on the game in the victory.

The team includes players from Issaquah, Skyline and Newport.
