Lakeside takes first four games

The Lakeside Recovery 18U Senior American Legion baseball team started its summer season off in grand fashion, winning its first four games.

The Lakeside Recovery 18U Senior American Legion baseball team started its summer season off in grand fashion, winning its first four games.

The team, composed of players from Issaquah, Skyline and Newport high schools, came from behind to beat Chaffey Baseball 7-6 on June 4 in its opening game. Lakeside trailed 6-4 headed to the bottom of the seventh, but rallied via a clutch game-winning hit from Mario Sanelli. Spencer Rogers and Ryan Somers also had big days, going 2-for-3 and 2-for-4 at the plate, respectively. Nathan Eisenhauer earned the victory.

Lakeside’s offense exploded on Friday as they defeated the Garfield Cadets 21-0 and 16-0 in back-to-back games at Bannerwood Park.

Lakeside defeated Lux Homes 17-4 on Tuesday.
