A streaking hot Lakeside Senior Legion baseball team had its fire extinguished over the weekend, dropping four straight games.

The group of Issaquah, Skyline and Newport players moved their win streak to eight games on Friday night, knocking off Valley Thunder 5-1 and 17-0 in a doubleheader.

Lakeside followed with a pair of losses Saturday to Chaffey Baseball Club at Husky Ballpark, falling 2-1 in the first contest and 20-3 in the second. The team then suffered two close defeats on Sunday, falling 8-7 and 5-3 to the Rips Brewers — moving their record to 12-5 for the summer.

Lakeside led game one 6-3 through four innings, but surrendered two runs in the fifth, sixth and one in the seventh. Former IHS player Mario Sanelli, who has returned to the team after completing his first season at Columbia Basin College, was 3-for-4 with three RBI. Issaquah’s Spencer Rogers was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Lakeside led 1-0 after the first inning of the second game, but gave up two runs in the second and third innings, and couldn’t recover.

Trace Tam Sing was 4-for-4 for Lakeside and Kevon Zadeh was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Lakeside takes to the field at 6 p.m., Friday against the Skagit Sox in Mount Vernon. They host the Pilots on Saturday with a doubleheader that starts at 9 a.m. at Newport High School.
