Local athletes dominate district Cross Country competitions

Prep sports roundup for the Issaquah/Sammamish region

The Issaquah Eagles boys cross country team captured first place with 112 total points at the Class 4A SeaKing-Bi-District Championships on Oct. 31 at Lake Sammamish State Park. Eastlake finished in second place with 125 points. Eastlake’s Nathan Pixler finished in first place with a time of 16:09.87 and Nate Pendleton nabbed third place with a time of 16:12.67. Issaquah’s Kennan Schrag earned sixth place and Luke George finished in 15th place.

The Eastlake Wolves girls Cross Country squad took second place at the Class 4A SeaKing-Bi-District Championships on Oct. 31 at Lake Sammamish State Park. The Issaquah Eagles finished in third place as a team with 104 points. Eastlake’s Pia Richards captured second place individually with a time of 18:50.27. Issaquah’s Sami Corman collected a third place finish with a time of 18:50.80. Skyline’s Maizy Brewer captured fifth place and Issaquah’s Kenna Clawson finished in sixth place individually.
