Baseball and softball All-Star teams from local little leagues are ready for their respective District 9 tournaments

The Eastlake Majors All-Star team

Little League baseball and softball All-Star tournaments are underway or set to begin, with the best from Issaquah, Eastlake and Sammamish trying to reach the state tournament and beyond.

Team members from each of the three leagues at the 9-10, 10-11 and Majors divisions will compete in district tournaments, with a chance to earn a spot at state.

The 9-10 District 9 tournament began June 21 at Hartman Park in Redmond, with the state tournament July 12 in Richland. The 10-11 tournament starts June 28, also at Hartman Park, with the state tournament July 19 in Chehalis.

The Majors district tournament, which holds the opportunity to advance all the way to Williamsport, Pa. and the Little League World Series, begins June 28 at South Mercer Park on Mercer Island. The state tournament is July 12 in Seattle.

All three of the softball tournaments are at Everest Park in Kirkland, with state tournaments in Walla Walla, Federal Way and Oak Harbor.
