Latest wrestling rankings released

Washington Wrestling Report released its latest state rankings this week, with Skyline, Issaquah, Eastside Catholic and Eastlake all posting at least one in the top-15 of their respective weight classes.

Skyline had a pair ranked at 120 pounds, with Joseph DeMatteo ninth and Justin Manipis 12th. Michael Mecham is 13th at 170 for Skyline and coach Gus Kiss.

Jerdon Helgeson of Issaquah is 15th at 145 after a state-alternate season last year. Matt Solusod came is tabbed seventh at 220 pounds, while teammate and fellow state participant from 2012 Jonathan Norris is second at 285.

Eastlake’s Eric Harper is third at 182 and is the only members of the Wolves in the rankings.

Matt Iwicki, a third place finisher at state in 2012 as a freshman, is the top-ranked wrestler at 120 pounds according to the site for Eastside Catholic.
