Mercer Island registers comeback win against Issaquah

The Mercer Island Islanders defeated Issaquah 11-10 in the Washington Lacrosse Division-1 boys semifinals on May 27 at Mercer Island High School in Mercer Island. Issaquah built a 3-0 lead in the first quarter but Mercer Island outscored Issaquah 11-7 in the final 36 minutes of play to advance to the state championship game.

Overstreet wins Class 4A golf title

After a three-way tie at 139 after two rounds of play, Issaquah’s Zach Overstreet captured the Class 4A individual state championship on the third playoff hole at the Creek at Qualchan golf course in Spokane. Issaquah captured second place as a team at the tournament, compiling 92.5 points. Bellarmine Prep won the team title with 93.5 points.

Skyline dynamic duo places at state

Skyline Chris Mogg tied for second place, shooting a 139. Mogg was in a three-way tie for first place at the conclusion of two rounds of play but lost in the third playoff hole. Skyline’s Kelley Sullivan captured sixth place at the state tournament, shooting a 142.
