Eastside falls to Bainbridge

Eastside Catholic suffered its first league loss last Friday, falling 5-2 at Bainbridge. Ronnie Mae Ayers hit a home run for the Crusaders in the loss. Eastside (0-1, 2-2) was scheduled to host Holy Names Wednesday and face them on the road Friday.

Eastlake loses to Centralia

Eastlake fell 15-6 to non-league Centralia last Friday. The Wolves, who trailed 3-0 after the top of the first, battled back for a 4-3 lead in the bottom half of the inning. They took a 5-3 lead after two, but surrendered 12 runs over the final four innings. Samantha Stavig led Eastlake at the plate, going 3-for-5. Hilary Hanson was 2-for-4.

Issaquah earns first league win

Issaquah defeated Newport 6-0 on Monday in its first league contest of the season. The Eagles were led at the plate by Kenna Olsen’s two doubles and four RBI. Molly Nelson was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. The senior catcher also gunned down two runners in the top of the third inning. Freshman Brielle Bray was also 2-for-4 with an RBI. Issaquah is now 1-0 in league and 3-1 overall.

Skyline loses close contest

Skyline had defending KingCo 4A champion Woodinville against the ropes Monday afternoon, but came up short in a 4-3 loss. The Spartans were led at the plate by Anya Kamber, who was 3-for-3 with two runs scored; Elaina Shawver was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Elizabeth Stromquist only allowed two earned runs, and struck out six in her six innings pitched.

Issaquah continues to roll

Issaquah earned its sixth win in seven games on Tuesday night, beating Newport 2-0 on the road. The Eagles earned a goal from Quinn Grisham in the 5th minute and another from Junpei Tsuji in the 39th minute. Stephen Jacobson earned the shutout. Issaquah improved to 3-1 in league and 6-1 overall with the victory.

Skyline takes two straight

Skyline earned its first two wins of the season, beating Lake Washington 2-1 last Friday and Bothell 3-0 on Tuesday. Josh Twaddle, Mitchell Kim and Travis Strawn all had second-half goals in Tuesday night’s win. The Spartans are now 2-3 overall.

Eastside tripped up by Lakeside

Eastside Catholic struck first, but fell 3-1 to Lakeside on Tuesday night. The Crusaders got on the board in the 16th minute with a goal from Quinn Sinser, but Lakeside scored later in the first half and twice more in the second half for the victory. Eastide is now 0-1 in league and 1-2 overall.

TENNIS

Eagles sweep singles matches

The Issaquah tennis team defeated Ballard 8-1 last Friday, winning all their matches in two sets.

No. 1 singles player Mika Asaba won her match 6-2, 6-4 over Katie Lee. Other individual winners included Alyssa Wilson, Selena Lustig, Morgan Gierke and Dayna Bennett. The doubles teams of Asaba-Wilson, Lustig-Bennett and Emma Haberlach-Katherine Allison also earned victories.
