Patriots trounce Crusaders

Eastside Catholic fell 53-13 to Liberty Monday night.

The score was 6-2 after one quarter, but the Patriots erupted for 17 in the second quarter and never looked back.

Kimmie Koehler led the Crusaders with eight points. Corinna Van Hurston had a game-high 11 for Liberty. Eastside Catholic fell to 0-6 with the loss.

Issaquah girls take second

Issaquah finished second place in the Bellevue Community College Christmas Classic on Dec. 30, falling 58-52 to the No. 1 ranked 3A team in the state, Kennedy.

Erin Nicol led the Eagles with 19 points and Maddey Pflaumer had eight.

The Eagles, ranked No. 8 in class 4A, returned to the court Wednesday against Roosevelt. Results occurred after Reporter deadline.

Skyline wins back-to-back games

Skyline turned a slow start into a 56-41 blowout of Lake Washington Tuesday night.

The Spartans were behind 13-8 after one quarter, but erupted for 22 second-quarter points and a 30-23 halftime lead. They continued to pour it on behind the team-high 15 points of Nick Crossan. Cory Hutsen added 12.

Skyline beat rival Eastlake Saturday, 61-60, on the Wolves’ home court. Crossan led all scorers with 22 points, while Hutsen had 16.

Skyline moved to 2-1 in league and 4-3 overall with the wins. The two contests were Skyline’s first since returning from the Cactus Jam in Phoenix, Ariz on Jan. 1. The Spartans took second, winning their first two games and dropping the championship 59-55 to Scottsdale Christian.

Eastlake drops heartbreakers

Eastlake was close, but couldn’t get over the hump in its last two games.

The Wolves fell 61-60 to rival Skyline Saturday and lost 67-63 to Bothell in overtime on Tuesday.

Turner Lee scored 17 points in both games to lead the Wolves. Michael Russo added 17 on Tuesday night as well.

Eastlake fell to 0-4 in league and 1-7 overall. The Wolves have lost two overtime games this year and four games by five points or less.

Issaquah splits close games

Issaquah defeated non-league Bainbridge 61-60 in overtime Saturday before losing by one point, 48-47, to Roosevelt on Tuesday.

Robby Primrose led the Eagles in scoring for both games with 22 and 12 points, respectively.

Issaquah is now 1-2 in league and 2-5 overall.
