The second annual Sammamish Skate Contest, put on by City of Sammamish Parks and Recreation and BFC 123 skate crew, went on Friday afternoon, despite dark clouds looming overhead most of the afternoon.

“We were watching the weather sites and held faith that the clouds would indeed part and the contest would happen” said event coordinator Pam Miller.

The contest proved a success as large group of skaters and observers were in attendance. Rotary Club members strolled through the park with trays of hot barbequed hot dogs and drinks for everyone, kicking off BFC 123’s summer skate series.
