Skyline boys grab second in league meet

Skyline earned second place overall at last Friday's KingCo 4A meet behind six league championships. Sophomore Kasen Williams had three of those, helping the Spartans to 97.5 points. Only Inglemoor (117) had more team points.

Williams won the high jump (6 feet, 2 inches), long jump (22-5) and triple jump (46-1 1/2). He also was the third leg of Skyline’s championship 400 team. Alex Lee, Tommy Aarts and Dustin Bratten made of the rest of the group, which finished first in 43 seconds flat.

Lee won the Spartan’s two other titles, claiming the 100 (11.11) and 200 (22.70).

Simon Sorensen grabbed third in the 800 (1 minute, 56.23 seconds) and Kyle Branch was fourth in the 3,200 (9:37.34).

Eastlake grabbed third place overall with 69 points. The Wolves edged Redmond (68) and Bothell (67). Eastlake had league champion in Brandon Cole. The junior won the 400 in 50.11. Teammate Keenan Clinch took third in the event (51.26).

Marcus Harewood finished third in the 200 (22.84) and Jeff Sloat was third in the 300 hurdles (40.30).

The 1,600 relay of Cole, Clinch, Ian Doyle and Patrick Gallagher was second in 3:24.92, just over two seconds behind Inglemoor.

Issaquah finished eighth of 12 teams with 53.5 team points. The Eagles had a pair of second-place finishes from Ryan Tiernan in the 110 hurdles (15.48) and Dillon Reagan in the shot put (49-4 1/4). Reagan was just 2 inches behind Woodinville’s Max Forde (49-6 1/4) for the league title.

The 4A District meet takes place May 23-24 at the Southwest Complex in Seattle.
