Behind junior Kasen Williams’two first-place finishes, the Skyline boys track and field team captured the team title Saturday at the prestigious Eason Invitational in Snohomish.

The Spartans finished with 54 team points, placing ahead of 45 other teams. Federal Way was second overall with 46 points. Abbotsford, B.C. (35) and Sehome (33) rounded out the top four.

Williams cleared 6 feet, 8 inches in the high jump, and went 47-8 in the triple jump. He also took second in the long jump with a leap of 22-1.

Skyline’s 1,600 relay team of Alex Lee, Dustin Braten, Drew Matthews and Williams took second overall in a time of 3 minutes, 23.10 seconds. Federal Way edged the Spartans by one-tenth of a second at 3:23.00.

Bratten was third in the 100 (11.22) and fourth in the 200 (23.28). Matthews finished fifth in the 400 (52.20) and Kyle Branch placed sixth in the 3,200 (9:42.01).

The Issaquah boys placed 17th overall with 18 team points.

Josh Martyn placed a team-best third place in the 300 hurdles (41.16), while Jason Hollaway placed fifth in the pole vault (13-0) and Kevin LeMond was sixth overall in the 800 (1:58.30).

The 1,600 relay team of Jeremiah Odom, Connor Pearl, Martyn and Lemond finished fourth overall in 3:30.90.

The Issaquah girls also performed well at Eason, placing 13th out of 46, with 22 team points.

Olympia won the girls title with 51 points.

Sophomore pole vaulter Eva Perry had the high finish on the day for the Eagles, placing second overall in the pole vault. She cleared 11-0, only behind Squalicum’s Cheyenna Pinley (11-3).

Haley Jacobson had a fourth-place finish in the 100 (13.05) and a fourth in the 200 (26.63).

Issaquah also earned a sixth-place finish in the 1,600 relay. The team of Kim Varney, Nicole Migotsky, Mckenna Hogan and Jacobson finished in 4:16.0. Glacier Peak won in 4:03.
