The win was the 11th of the year for the Spartans, who moved into a fourth place tie with Eastside Catholic. Issaquah’s loss, just their sixth of the season, them into a second-place tie with Bellevue.

The walk-off winner came on the second possession of overtime following an Issaquah shot by Jake Fritz off of the opening draw that missed just wide of the Skyline cage. On the clear by Skyline’s Cory Larson, Max Saffle grabbed the pass at the center line, pulling Issaquah into a double team and fed the ball to McMackin. Once in possession, the junior midfielder fired the game winner past the stick side of Issaquah backup goalie Brady Hahn.

Issaquah took the early lead, finishing the first quarter with a 3-1 advantage, but Skyline came back with three goals of its own in the second to knot the game at 4-4 at halftime.

Ryan Benz scored with 9 seconds in regulation to force sudden death.

Skyline (11-8-0) faces Mercer Island (17-2-0) in the season finale, 8 p.m., Friday, May 13 at Skyline. Issaquah finished their regular season 13-6-0.

Keogh nets five goals in Eastlake’s win over Northshore

Patrick Keogh scored five goals to lead Eastlake to a 13-9 boys high school lacrosse win over Northshore, Wednesday at Bothell. The win was the 11th of the season for Eastlake.

The win lifted Eastlake to sole possession of seventh place with an 11-6-1 record.  Northshore finished its season at 7-9-0.

Eastlake jumped out to a 4-2 lead after the first and built an 8-4 lead at the half.Brian Quick added 3 goals and Avery Harkins had 16 saves in goal for Eastlake.

GOLF

Eastlake finishes third, Issaquah fourth in KingCo medalist tournament

Eastlake shot a collective 476 during the KingCo 4A medalist tournament at Mount Si Golf Course, finishing only behind Redmond (424) and Newport (432).

Megan Wotherspoon led the Wolves with a fourth-place finish, shooting an 10-over par, 82.

Redmond’s Kelly Kennewick won the tournament with a 5-over par, 72.

Eastlake’s Jamie Midkiff finished in a three-way tie for 10th place with an 18-over par, 90.

Issaquah’s Lauren Merdinyan also shot an 18 over, 90.

Skyline finished sixth as a team with a combined 524.

The District 2 golf tournament continues today at Mount Si Golf Course.
